I've been blogging for two years. During that time many changes have occured. The biggest was listening to my neshama and embracing my Jewish heritage.
The second most life-changing event was surviving Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans recieves most of the coverage.
A lot of my blog posts since Katrina have been about the rebuilding of my hometown of Gulfport and the rest of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. 65,000 homes, 16% percent, of the homes along the Mississippi Coast were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. A further 35,000 homes, 8%, had to be demolished becuase the damage from storm surge and/or wind was so severe.
We are still rebuilding and will be for the next 8-10 years.
