The last of defense for protection of our rights: The ACLU and Criminal Defense Attorneys. Congress has been extremely busy passing laws during Bush's presidency which infringe upon our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendment rights. The Supreme Court, in the past few years, made decisions which further eroded our protections from the government.
Does anyone care?

The ACLU is an organization that wants to destroy the United States. The aclu believes that photos of enhanced interrogation should be relaesed to our enimies such as the taliban and algadia. The photos would jepordize the lives of our great men and women in our military. God Bless our military and God Bless America. Screw the aclu.
The ACLU is there to protect our liberties. Torture is against every principle the United States stands for. The torture we committed has increased the endangerment to our troops
i support our military and think our troops do a wonderful job. My Dad served 25 years.
The aclu only protects the liberties of certain groups. My Dad also served 25 years in the military and did not like the aclu.
denise,
It only seems as if they only protect certain groups. In actuality, they are protecting the rights of everyone. My Dad didn't like the ACLU either.
Some of the laws passed while Bush was president infringe on our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendment rights. Though these rights seem to be just for those arrested, they serve to protect all of us.
The ACLU is unpopular mainly because they seem to support criminals. They are actually protecting all of our rights.
Everyone should be concerned when rights are threatened. A lot of people starting buying guns and ammo because of concerns about the 2nd Amendment when Obama was elected. I didn't see too many of those same people concerned about the other rights we are slowly losing.
Do you know that the aclu wants to sue a troop of marines serving in Afganistan because they prayed. The aclu wants to protect the "rights" of illegal immigrants. The only rights the illegal immigrants should have is a one way ticket back to thier country, then get the necessary papers that it takes to be a legal allien in this country. Screw the aclu, thank you President Bush for keeping America safe after 9-11, and for having some back bone, unlike the mistake we have in the white house now.
The reason my Dad did not like the aclu was because of the aclu dilikes our military. My Dad proudly served 25 years in both the Army and Navy. My Dad also did 2 Tour of Duties in Vietnam. God Bless My Father in Heaven, God Bless Our Military, and God Bless America. Rest in Peace Dad, I Love and Miss You.
President Bush has done more harm to our country that will take decades to fix. As far Afghanistan, I searched the ACLU web-site regarding the issue you brought up. Can you cite your sources?
You like the aclu want this country to become a socialist society. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
When a crime is committed there is a victim who has had their right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", violated. I am for the victim.
denise,
Will than I guess you won't be saying the Pledge of Allegiance any more since it was written by a Socialist preacher.
Also, I believe in justice and those who commit crimes should be punished but at the expense of the rights the Founders of our country fought so dearly for.
From John Adams:
"The people, when they have been unchecked, have been as unjust, tyrannical, brutal, barbarous, and cruel, as any king or senate possessed of uncontrollable power. The majority has eternally, and without one exception, usurped over the rights of the minority."
I will say the Pledge of Alligence, especilally the part "one nation under God"' the part that the aclu find so offensive. When I spend my money, I will spend it proudly, In God We trust". I belive in God and so did our Founding Fathers, the aclu does not believe in God. My belief is if ones believes in God how can that person see any good in the aclu.
